Cosy English style tearoom for tea and cakes on a chilly January afternoon in Bordeaux. L’Autre Salon de Thé, so named because there is another tearoom in the same street that I never found, also offers salads, quiches etc for lunch. Most of the teas are flavoured, but the tea menu did include one pure oolong and one sencha as well as several unflavoured Darjeelings, Ceylans and Assams.

After spending a rainy weekend in Dordogne with friends who own a bread machine (warm brioches, spelt bread with homemade melon jam, hazelnut cake with nuts from the garden, the list goes on), I managed to resist the cakes, quite a miracle because they included key lime pie, banoffi pie and some enormous scones!

Les Mots Bleus a few streets across, looked like a nice place too: teas, coffees, cakes and books.
